St Clair Orthopaedics is pleased to provide patients with the latest in digital x-ray technology. The high resolution images, made possible with digital x-rays enable our physicians to give a more accurate diagnosis. Instant image availability means less time spent waiting for x-rays. Digital x-ray also uses a lower dose of radiation compared to conventional x-ray. It is environmentally friendly because the chemical processing is eliminated. Our onsite imaging department is staffed with experienced registered radiographers who strive for excellence in the production of digital images and high quality patient care.

Joint Injections

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a form of arthritis that is caused by the breakdown of cartilage in joints. It is the most common form of arthritis. In addition to cortisone injections, there are several visco supplementations that are used to treat osteoarthritis. These are injected directly into the joint. St. Clair Orthopaedics physicians use the following viscosupplements; Synvisc & Synvisc One, Hyalgan, Euflexxa, and Gel One.

When using an injection to deliver treatment in to painful joints, ultrasound guided injections may be used to aid in the precision of injection placement. The ultrasound can ensure a more precise and accurate needle placement. St. Clair Orthopaedics physicians and nurse practitioners are trained in ultrasound guided injections. These injections can be done in the office and are usually covered by your insurance.
